Quaero. Stupid French boondoggle
Anyone know where the @pmarca blog post is that talks about the European effort (more than $300 million Euro!) to build a search alternative to Google? Not in the blog archive, that I can see. From about 2007 or 2008.

That's the one! There was a German counterpart, too, IIRC - they were close to a 50-50 split.
