Great quote! The opposite is true as well - repeatedly talking about something makes it easier to write about. But, for me, the written version is the easiest one to apply gradient descent to.

That's something I've been thinking about too. Speaking about topics, especially when it's to other people, helps me clarify ideas in a way that feels different from writing. It's like writing on a page where the oldest words rapidly fade away.
Speaking let's you "restart" and begin against constantly in a way that writing doesn't. When you write, the previous sentences seem to limit what you can say next. I'm trying to define what speaking does better than writing and vice-versa.
