I had the same reaction to Chomsky, he's still sharper than the average public intellectual. It's pretty interesting how intelligence doesn't degrade with age unless the person develops neurological disorders.
With Chomsky I often find myself disagreeing, but he's certainly very, very sharp & interesting (and much better informed than I am on many subjects, which makes it doubly interesting).
