Are there actually people who are impressed to read cover letters that begin with ‘Dear Sir or Madam,’ ‘Dear hiring manager,’ or ‘To whom it may concern?’ Why are we teaching people to apply for jobs like this?
Probably better than "Hey", which I've received from a few cold calls...

I think I would prefer both of those to ‘Dear Sir or Madam,’ especially for marketing roles where I’m looking for at least a teeny bit of bravery and willingness to stand out.
