One final suggestion, easy-to-find but not necessarily to understand: important results in fields with depth - let's say s'thing that typically requires 5+ years to understand - have this character. Most modern research mathematics has this nature, to the extent I can judge
I think this is part of why such fields are so addictive: they've often many glorious ideas.
