Don't want to be negative but your assumption (quiz respondents == intellectual elite) is far from clear. And your whole argument is based on this assumption.
It's a good point, and fair enough. But (a) the first commenter on the post, Bora Zivkovic, confirmed similar results at another gathering where the respondents were much better controlled; & (b) it's consistent with other things I've seen. Not bulletproof, but seems v. likely.
