Of course people are going to guess whatever seems most intuitive. The point is that Hans Rosling made a career out of COUNTER-intuitive statistics.
This is a good point - one wonders if Rosling fine-tuned his survey over the years to find questions where people usually had a particularly bad model. In which case it's still very interesting, but requires a change in interpretation from that I gave.
