Blaming slavery for (supposedly) producing income/wealth inequalities is like blaming it for producing cotton. Slavery is an abomination. Cotton and inequality aren't. It's saddening how readily people advocate the destruction of everything that has ever lifted humanity out of tyranny and destitution. But consoling how thoroughly the political institutions of error correction—running in those same minds!—prevent that absolute evil.
