For instance, this is how I read the AlphaGo paper (for my article https://www.quantamagazine.org/is-alphago-really-such-a-big-deal-20160329/ … ).

one big deck or bunch of small ones?
-
Started with lots of small decks, gradually merging them. Better for retention, much better for creative crosslinking and mixing up my brain.

love the Tweetstorm. I've found Anki to be life-changing too. Do you have many decks or mostly a few big ones?
-
Gradually merging decks - I'll end up with one deck.

Do you type out more complex Anki cards or just copy paste? I keep stumbling at the point when I spend too long making/refining the cards and not enough time doing the exercise.
-
Type out.

have you tried https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scapple/overview … , and do you think anything similar would be equally useful for memorizing associations?
-
No, I haven't. Interesting question.

I have tried anki before. One feature I really wish it had is a “stochastic” mode. Phone beeps at random times throughout the day and shows you a card that you are likely about to forget.
