Interesting to think about this for the acquisition of language, perhaps the ultimate cognitive technology - what did it amputate?

Language "amputated" forms of embodied communication? Need to think this through over night dreaming ;)

yeah probably! Less need for physical interaction (either in a nice way, like hugging or more extreme way, like hitting foreign humans!). Language let the first humans negotiate, signal, etc
