Isn't this just a sign that AI is full of f***ing sexist morons who think this sort of thing is a fun/good idea? I hate this.
I was not there but this seems to be a standard acrobatics performance on aerial hammocks, a bit over the top for a recruitment event, but why is it sexist?
So, I'm familiar with aerial acrobatics stuff, but my specific problem is the context: you're showing this at an event with a massive over-representation of men and under-representation of women. I don't see how it makes people feel equally comfortable.
And my basic view is that it's broadly good to eliminate even slightly risque stuff until you have something approaching healthy gender equality/culture at these things before doing stuff like this. But perhaps I'm being weirdly puritanical about this and over-reacting!
I myself do aerial, and I don't consider it risque at all, but maybe that's not the general view. I appreciate your sentiment about this, though, and agree that it's good to keep gender ratios in mind when considering entertainment.
Understood. And I do appreciate it's an incredibly challenging and interesting art form. So I was really being grumpy about it happening at an event with these latent problems. Thanks for the discussion about this!
(I guess I'm interloping, but this thoughtful discussion was a nice bright spot in my twitter feed!)
