I disagree with some of the criticisms of @Open_phil and @GiveWell in that article. But also appreciate people developing thoughtful alternate approaches.
Yeah, it seems to say that e.g. Singer purposefully ignores the causes of suffering in favor of palliation. But his philosophy is to do the most good - if you have a persuasive argument for a systemic way of achieving the most good, of course he would support doing that instead.
