I've no idea if that's the intent - it's not my proposal. It seems quite different in many ways, though, in producing alignment of goals and of purpose.

For instance, under a standard UBI most people aren't going to care any more about GDP or collective well-being. But under this scheme they would have a reason to. That's a mixed blessing, of course.

To me, they seem operationally related, since it's also an "unconditional money transfer". But with AE, as GDP increases/decreases, so do "dividends". Hmm.

Yes, didn't mean to say it wasn't similar! Obviously, it's extremely similar, I'm just seeing a lot of "Oh, this is a rebranded UBI" in my timeline, when the change is quite a bit deeper than just rebranding. Sam's comparison to the invention of co's is apt.
