@michael_nielsen don't need 100% formal, but still needs to rule out obv bad ctex's. E.g., random noise has the ability to produce van Gogh.
@jeremyjkun Have you read "Proofs and Refutations"? Very nice discussion of how to come up with good definitions. Also a rare example
