@michael_nielsen interesting - I suspect if I'd had the choice at the time, I would have chosen student. def pros & cons to both.
@sarahkendrew I was, in retrospect, very lucky in my choice of supervisor. No pressure, beyond "do interesting stuff, & tell me about it."
