It's a common trope that programming is the new literacy. But it'd be much more interesting for interface design to be the new literacy.

@michael_nielsen interface design is much harder. Done right it requires good powers of abstraction. I'm pessimistic everyone can learn this
@posco I've been gradually coming to appreciate this. Interface design has a surprisingly similar feel to doing mathematics.

@michael_nielsen I said the same thing to@peterseibel (an English major). Interestingly, he said it felt similar to writing prose. -
