Efficient action at the expense of meaningful action is an insidious idea. Efficiency should be the service of meaning, not vice versa.

@michael_nielsen Isn't "efficient w/o meaning" a contradiction in terms? Efficiency only defined w.r.t. reaching a goal?
@mpoessel No. Lots of people want to do things efficiently, without concentrating on meaning. Consider the way many ppl teach spelling.
