I'm not wild about gotcha journalism. But geez I'd love to ask some of the people writing about climate some basic questions. What are total CO2 emissions per year? What percentage is due to the US? To China? To coal? To power generation?

Wish I had a better reference! The IPCC report is good, but a bit much. I find myself going down rabbitholes that make Wikipedia look like a meditation session.

If you can get a preview on Amazon or Google Books, take a look. My guess is there's a book that's a good fit for what you're looking for, but I'm not sure Henson is it.

for a (hydrology focused) piece on quantifying uncertainty in environmental modelling, "Environmental Modelling: An Uncertain Future?" by Keith Beven is a great read. he came up with GLUE, which, like it or hate it, at least got people talking about epistemic model uncertainty
