Amazing news: polio type 3 has just been declared eradicated. The WHO declared polio type 2 eradicated in 2015. That leaves polio type 1. IIRC from the most recent updates, some wild type has been found in Africa, but I believe the majority of cases in the past several years have been from Pakistan, particularly in more remote areas, and in Afghanistan. I had to get a booster in Iraq in '15 after it was found there
