Have you (tried to) read his "Mathematics and plausible reasoning" or "Mathematical discovery" books? They are I think much better than the much more well known "How to solve it?"- less generic and more advanced examples, among other things.
I read much of "Mathematics and Plausible Reasoning", but eventually gave up (I was learning little). I think I read parts of half a dozen or more books by Polya, and in general got little out of them.
