Exercise is an example where I've really been helped by this point of view - asking "what forms of exercise do I most enjoy & look forward to". There's a big difference between different forms. Some I hate. Others I really enjoy.
A big complication is that often the more enjoyable thing is "less efficient". I've become pretty militant about doing the "less efficient" thing if it's much more enjoyable. When I lived in SOMA I used to walk nearly 30 extra mins to work each day, to walk along the water.
