Most success in life is a result of ignoring what current you feels like doing in favor of what future you will be glad you did.

One part of the reason is that it's very difficult to work really effectively unless it's what current you really, really wants to be doing. So when there's often a mismatch, that's worth pondering very carefully.
Another part of the reason is that it's hugely important to cultivate awareness of what you enjoy. When you constantly suppress it, it's really damaging, IMO. (My personal experience, other people's mileage may vary!)
