Reflecting on the proposed Princess Bride remake, & thinking about how much luck is involved in making great movies. Blade Runner is a great movie without the "Tears in Rain" monologue, but much less so. And that was re-written by Rutger Hauer at the last minute. Talk about luck!

... but no one will go deleting the original from anywhere. Movies are namespaced, there'll be no masking. Even if only a micro joke half works, even if one person feels curious and checks the original, wouldn't we all be better off?
