Reflecting on the proposed Princess Bride remake, & thinking about how much luck is involved in making great movies. Blade Runner is a great movie without the "Tears in Rain" monologue, but much less so. And that was re-written by Rutger Hauer at the last minute. Talk about luck!
Given the way casting usually works, in most universes Hauer wasn't in the movie.
