The article is very confused. For example, it doesn't realize that no country practices democracy, which amounts to the tyranny of the majority. Voting works *in spite of* the irrationality of the average voter because of restrictions. The voting age is one of these restrictions.

Any right universally granted is an act of humility, restraint, and trust. Adults, in my experience, do not evince these traits readily when it comes to children.
