Why is nobody talking about the fact that every time someone says "Why is nobody talking about X?" it just means that they're not paying attention to the literally thousands of people who are talking about X?
I'm pretty sure that in a lot of cases it's the result of deliberate manipulation. With the Amazon fires many (maybe most) of the first few hundred tweets I saw were "Why is nobody talking about...?" This suggests it's the result of a deliberate campaign by one or more groups.

I feel like I've seen it a lot from people who I'm reasonably sure are real people.

Of course - I'm sure 99% of those I saw were real people. That's a sign the campaign is well run. (I do this too, of course: unconsciously repeat crafted talking points.)
