I wanted to love that book. But unfortunately I didn't get much out of it. I suspect - though I've never figured it out - that there's some basic assumption the authors make that conflicts with some basic assumption I make. I'm sure it's a superb book, though!
It felt to me like an assumption somewhere in the neighborhood of "making a model feel like reality itself is your likely or even default goal".
