I’m baffled by the outrage from open source consumers over a (removable) ad taking a few seconds of their attention, when the problem of maintainers not getting paid is a systemic crisis. Where’s that energy for the crisis of open source? This is why we can’t have nice things.
It was fascinating to read the comments in @feross's issue queue. Not just free riders, but quite a few people who seem to think they're _entitled_ to free ride, and any attempt to make otherwise is at best a distraction, at worst an outrage.
