Brainstorming meetup structures. I don’t like “one person gives a talk, then informal networking”— too much focus on one person. Small discussion groups are nice but can feel too rigid. Maybe lightning talks, a bunch of people to focus on & that’ll naturally create smaller groups

Thinking upon it some more: poster sessions at many events are (relatively) lower status than the high status talks. That's a pity, since they're more useful. But it's something you'd need to obviate.

Wondering how many people is ideal. If you have just 15 people at the event, then you can average 10 mins per poster over 2.5 hrs. In practice, probably means 1 or 2 30-min conversations, and then a tail decreasing down to 3-5 min conversations.

A challenge is that preparing a good poster is a lot of work. Anyways, it's a really interesting idea, thanks!
