20-somethings play a valuable ecological role in Twitter communities IMO: Discovering ideas/content for the first time, which older members will view as "classics", and enthusiastically sharing. Used to mess w/ my head ("others probably know this") but now I see it as a positive

I just want to point out, with VERY GREAT GLEE that we had a very similar conversation back in January, in this very same tree, with certainly John and Devon participating (and I can't see Omar right now, but I'll bet he's there). also, the age-based social structure @backus illuminates provides a nice "real" reason for the resurfacing, which feels much better than, say, a script that sends you a classic to re-read every Tuesday.

So, er, we're using community-based spaced repetition to have discussions about community-based spaced repetition. Which means either (a) it's a great idea; or (b) we're all really forgetful.

I think this is one of the great benefits of having the seniority mix that prevails in e.g. HN, because “But maybe someone should charge less?” is the most reliable way to get me to explain pricing advice to a few hundred people.

Also: our lifespan is very short, so we are bound to repeat some stuff in every generation.
