On Arrival: well, um, as several of my friends have learned (at great length), I'm a little irrational on this subject. I thought it was superb the first time I read it. The second time I decided it was a work of absolute, utter genius.

Excuse me, of course I mean "Story of Your Life", which was turned into the movie "Arrival" (good, but not in the same class, AFAICT).
I love this. I had many takeaways from SOYL, but related to your notes, in particular I mulled over the human desire to connect knowledge with responsibility, an impulse contingent on the belief that one can affect change over time.

Are you sure it's events from the future causing events from the past, and not "my confidence in the statement that Apollo 11 was constructed is high" because "my confidence in the statement that Armstrong landed on the moon is already high"?
Are “time loops” similar to this? Cuz its close to the stuff explored in movie “Predestination” and netflix series “Dark”.
