So did I. I'd guess 20% or so of the intended effect - it just seems a little washed out.
It doesn't work for me either. Not even a dulling or washing out. I also have a similar issue where a large share (but not majority) of illusions don't work for me. For motion illusions however, I'd say it's even the majority that don't work, tho I've not done a meticulous tally
For a fair number of motion illusions that do work, I also get a sort of horrible, horrible brain static that I really, really dislike. Think of exponentiated skin crawling. I get the same experience for things with lots of holes (how I experience trypophobia).
