And please don't leave your laptops unlocked. I'm shocked at the number of people who do this at coffee shops.
I like it. It means their model (& probably their experience) of the world is high trust. A friend of mine once explained that in his (tiny, very neighbourly) town it was customary to leave doors unlocked on vacation. "After all, what if someone needed to get in?"

Funny, I half thought he was teasing me. But the first time I arrived at his house, I simply walked in (not locked), and one of his wife's students (college town) was helping herself to coffee in the kitchen, alone in the house. Lovely place.
