If you watch a chess game in reverse it's just two people being really bad at and taking extremely long to set up the board.

There’s suicide chess, which isn’t exactly what you’re asking but might be interesting. You have to capture if able, winner is who “loses” first.

There's 'losing chess' that I did play a lot in my youth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Losing_Chess … It's got very different dynamics in that one can be 'winning' but this quickly can cascade in a complete loss.
