You are looking for generalists, but we pretty much only reward and know about specialists. Generalists get neither the money nor the fame. I assume you know about superforecasters?

I just read your article on how innovative visuals can lead to new forms of cognition. I feel like we need a homology across disciplines for some basic thinking models. Not sure how one would form the necessary committee on standards, however.
