I just read your article on how innovative visuals can lead to new forms of cognition. I feel like we need a homology across disciplines for some basic thinking models. Not sure how one would form the necessary committee on standards, however.
Languages don't need committees on standards. Nor do graphs. Or mathematics. Etc.
