I've always wondered if general "human-level" AI will inevitably have similar slowness, cognitive biases, etc. as human intelligence -- maybe these can't be separated from general intelligence.
This is a really interesting point! The brightest person I know will often pause 30-60 seconds before answering even very basic questions. He'll also do the same when asked some difficult unsolved problem in theoretical physics. In both cases he often states the answer at the end
I suspect point (1) is essential to point (2).
