Have any aphantastics tried visual mnemonic techniques, like the method of loci, memory palaces, etc? Do they work at all for you?

Unsure if I have aphantasia. I don’t literally see things when I close my eyes. I can sort of imagine it, visually, but like through a separate set of internal eyes? Like thinking of a word rather than seeing it in front of you. Have great visual memory and special reasoning 1/

I can imagine 3D models of, eg, topo maps, rotate them around in my head and find navigable routes, eg see video (near Tioga Pass). I can do all this but I don’t literally see it with my eyes closed. I’m skeptical whether I or many others really have aphantasia 2/2pic.twitter.com/UKYFCZR09w

yes aphantastic. no memory palaces haven't been useful -- can see how it might feasibly get in to spatial memory but feels v costly to do so.
