Have any aphantastics tried visual mnemonic techniques, like the method of loci, memory palaces, etc? Do they work at all for you?

Correct, yes. Mainly that if I've physically walked through a place I can essentially "imagine" rewalking it and navigating my way around, but there's no associated imagery, I just have a sense of where I am and how to get places from there.

Really interesting! I'm a milder version of this: I'm not aphantastic, but I think my visual imagination is probably weak (compared to many of my friends, any way). I do have an extremely strong spatial sense, though. (And, oddly, possibly very mild visual synesthesia.)
