Have any aphantastics tried visual mnemonic techniques, like the method of loci, memory palaces, etc? Do they work at all for you?

also, with visual mnemonics, I specifically meant the technique where you map certain routes (e.g., your trip to work) and places hooks. Walking through it just takes more time for me than saying a rhyme. Also, it's easier to spot an error in a rhyme than skipping a spot

Also, I paired both with spaced repetition (using Anki, which surprisingly still exists a decade later)

not at all :). I actually think that I am completely the opposite as I always preferred reading novels over watching movies, since it allows me to make up stuff/locations/scenery in my own mind
