Have any aphantastics tried visual mnemonic techniques, like the method of loci, memory palaces, etc? Do they work at all for you?

yes, during my undergrad studies. it was useful in chemistry for remembering certain types/orders of reactions etc. But honestly, mnemonic rhymes work better for me than visual mnemonic techniques as they require less work practicing

also, with visual mnemonics, I specifically meant the technique where you map certain routes (e.g., your trip to work) and places hooks. Walking through it just takes more time for me than saying a rhyme. Also, it's easier to spot an error in a rhyme than skipping a spot

Also, I paired both with spaced repetition (using Anki, which surprisingly still exists a decade later)

not at all :). I actually think that I am completely the opposite as I always preferred reading novels over watching movies, since it allows me to make up stuff/locations/scenery in my own mind
