What are engineering tips everyone learns too late? For me: 1. ctrl+r in the Terminal 2. tail accepting multiple files. What else?
Not for engineers, but everyone: cmd-l takes you to the search/url bar in Chrome (and some other browsers, I forget which...)

In the same vein: Ctrl-shift-v to paste as plain text. This has saved me so much unformatting frustration.
