So interesting. This makes me want to write a sci fi short story exploring what happens to our populations as all nations develop, technology advances, and population shrinks.

Interesting that the color scheme used here reveals the author's preference: high fertility = green (good); low fertility = red (bad). Someone else might see low fertility as good because it allows for higher rates of immigration which is enormously beneficial to immigrants

Maybe. Economically those countries really have fared very differently though. So it's not implausible.
