On creating a foundation: to avoid future troubles, do not appoint the beautiful and the great as trustees, because later on they will appoint their boyfriends and girlfriends to the Board. And also have term limits on trustees. (Patiently explained to me by art lawyer).
Curious: are the beautiful and the great more likely to do this than anyone else? (I don't see why, but maybe I'm missing something?)

I think it’s more that selecting for one trait means regressing to the mean on others, like dedication to the cause.

Interesting observation! Of course, trustees often are appointed for one trait. Eg one will have legal expertise, another marketing expertise, etc. This would suggest a similar problem with regression to the mean in those areas.

It's specifically a problem with people who think they are awesome (often for good reasons!) vs those who have knowledge of why they should be humble and follow good processes.
