Have you considered that people might have done such things and still have really long lines? In fact, isn't going to undergrad TAs a (barely studied) *kind* of peer instruction?
Certainly in my own life if someone is a really good teacher that doesn't make me want to talk to them _less_, which seems to be (effectively) the implicit assumption in the original tweet.
