Funny, just talking about that with @andy_matuschak today. I used to joke about starting a political party - "Canadians for Global Warming". SF would be much better 5 degrees warmer. (Though obv bad for other reasons...)

SF is so cold *because* the east bay is so warm that the rising hot air sucks in fog from the Pacific. I haven’t seen any modeling, but I’d guess it’s likely that more warming actually makes SF summers even colder.
