Kiva is awesome. Makes a great gift to someone else too (see https://www.kiva.org/gifts/kiva-cards … ). And when loans are repaid you can roll them over to a new person, so a small amount ends up going a very long way.

Yeah I keep rolling some money over into new loans on kiva. It's usually small loans for individuals, not large projects though

Have you compared Kiva to other methods of giving? Microfinance is controversial. I am drawn to it (my own biases), but could I help more by donating elsewhere?
