Not easily, I'm sorry. AFAIK there's no good generally accessible account of what he's pioneered. (I took a small stab at related ideas in http://cognitivemedium.com/vme , though.)
A very rough gist, speculative: the kind of direction he (and others) are pioneering will qualitatively change humanity's relationship with matter in a fashion analogous to the way Turing & his colleagues changed humanity's relationship with information.

It will take about 30-100 years before the fruits of that will be seen in general culture though (and it may not happen, for a variety of reasons).
