Could someone please make a scatterplot of this data, with a curve fitted to it? I suspect there is a very important shape here that no one has seen before.https://twitter.com/JonErlichman/status/1095395031006040071 …

Paul Graham added,
Twitter: an API for getting graphs made. You have coarse control over the graphs, but they arrive in quantity.
The graphs are v. interesting. It's not quite clear what inflation-adjusted means, but I presume it means 50 billion at the cross-the-threshold date, in 2019 (or similar) dollars.
There are some notable omissions, esp. Standard Oil (which grew amazingly), only companies from the breakup.
Overall, this seems closely related to the surprisingly regular growth of GDP, and I wonder if there are models which can explain this graph essentially as a byproduct of the growth of GDP. Also seems related to the "innovation: slowing down, speeding up" question.
