The more successful the founder, the less they tend to know about fundraising technique. E.g. Zuck has only had to raise money a few times, and every time investors were already eager to give him money.

Note: by "successful" here, I mean in the sense of "generating important lasting insight about the world", not "good at getting grants", which people sometimes confuse with the former. Actually, there's also a similar phenom among founders, now that I think of it.
