i think that browser tabs today are almost the exact equivalent of the great Unix processes

I'm insanely curious: what are the great Unix processes?
Is that what a GPU is? The Great Processes of Unix? Which you can rent by the hour at AWS? And I've been missing them all this time?

Maybe “great” here is just used in the sense of “large”, which presumably (given that we’re talking about browser tabs) is referring to their memory footprint.
