I like collecting stories of famous inventors who were just really nice people and seemingly lacking in major personality flaws. Who should I know about?

As far as I know so far: Lord Kelvin, Robert Fulton, and George Westinghouse qualify. Any others? (Or caveats to the above..)

Not an inventor, but inventor-adjacent: Bohr sounds like he was ridiculously nice and well-loved.

This, in the intro to Pais's biography of Bohr, seems fairly typical. I've read three of Pais's books, and for the most part he comes across as tough and unsentimental. This statement is quite something.pic.twitter.com/25JYQCr1Qz

Bohr had a complicated relationship with the Nazis.....you should see the play 'Copenhagen' it's pretty good for science nerds.

Amazing play! Saw the original cast in London shortly after it opened. In what sense do you mean Bohr's relationship with the Nazis was complicated? He was Jewish, fled for his life from the Nazis, & (arguably) helped save the life of many other Jews by helping them flee.
